Whether you’re in it to solve big global problems or simply to help people, getting an MPH in Global Health Leadership at the University of Haifa will prove to be a rewarding experience. The University of Haifa is the only comprehensive research university in Northern Israel, which is also known as the most pluralistic university in the country. Students will share the hallways and classrooms with 18,000 students, including Jews, Christians, Muslim Arabs, Druze, Bedouins, as well immigrants and native Israelis. This diverse environment serves as the perfect command center for learning concepts in the field of Global Health and Administration.
Throughout the duration of the program, students will be exposed to the full spectrum of subjects related to Global Health and Administration. The journey begins with introductory core courses, including biostatistics, epidemiology, and research methods. Many enriching electives are offered, including vaccines, global strategies in maternal and child health, human rights and public health, sociology of health and illness, psychological and behavioral factors in global health, and more. The degree program also includes a structured and supervised professional practicum as well as a capstone project, where students focus on the integration of public health concepts, course content, and other knowledge gained over the course of study to create a project, professional report, or policy analysis. The capstone project allows students to investigate a global health or global health leadership issue or problem and seek an answer.
Upon graduation, students will be prepared to enter the workforce as the next generation of health care leaders who possess a comprehensive understanding of society’s complex problems and how they influence public health. The 1-year, English taught program spans 3 consecutive semesters and imbues students with the skills to manage cross-cutting, multi-sectoral, top-down and bottom-up comprehensive programs, within and outside of the health services field.
