In the complex world of contemporary politics it is necessary to understand not just theories of politics and communication, but also the fusion of those theories and their practical applications. This is especially true in democratic states, where leaders have to orchestrate “permanent campaigns” in order to maintain the sympathy of the public in a reality full of of global and local challenges. The one-year M.A. Political Science & Political Communication program explores these themes and more, offering students the opportunity to advance their knowledge and understanding of the practical dimensions of politics.
During the year-long M.A. in Political Science program, students will work alongside Tel Aviv University’s Political Science Department, the home to Israel National Election Studies. The program explores the dynamics and complexities of politics in the global age, offering students the opportunity to advance their knowledge and understanding of the practical dimensions of politics. Courses provide a broad, comparative, perspective of political theories, political leadership, political communication, electoral systems, and voter behavior. The curriculum incorporates educational tours and meetings with political leaders, prominent journalists, and election specialists. Students also have the option to complete a thesis.
Graduates are equipped to evaluate and respond to the challenges that arise from the interconnectedness between politics and communication and are prepared for careers as leading scholars, campaign managers, lobbyists, political consultants, press secretaries, diplomatic representatives, parliamentary assistants, journalists, news editors, political analysts, elections consultants, public relations consultants or professionals in related fields.
