There are people in the world who are resigned to let issues of international conflict and diplomacy fuel dinner party conversations, and there are people who want to do their part to resolve them. For students who are interested in learning about the anatomy of conflicts, how they progress, and the tactics and strategies used to elucidate them, IDC Herzliya offers an MA in Government Diplomacy and Conflict Studies. This program aims to develop students to shape the future of society, become tomorrow’s leaders and resolve today’s local and international conflicts
Students will examine the cultural, legal, and psychological factors associated with conflict. Coursework will concern negotiation, mediation, public and economic diplomacy, modern conflict resolution, counter-terrorism and security issues. By the end of the their studies, students will possess the tools to effectively manage twenty-first century conflicts, understand emerging trends in public and international diplomacy, and how changes in the globalized world have facilitated conflicts.
Students are encouraged to apply their learning through internships, research, and policy-focused work with experienced professionals, all made possible by professional connections through the program.
